Welcome to Skeleton Key 2: Possession, a return to the same scary journey taken by for our Goblin Town D&D gang last October. To catch up, please refer to our first Skeleton Key one-shot at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZP5eWXza2g
In this one shot, our players are all members of the same family, the Newells, still recuperating from their visit to their Uncle Ogden's estate in Newton, Massachusetts. It's been one year since their fateful visit, and news has spread of mysterious deaths in the town of Newton which mirror those they encountered a year ago. Has the vengeful ghost they encountered returned? Can they delve into the past to uncover the source of this curse which is now plaguing this New England town, and end it? Or will the dark entity which nearly claimed their lives last year finish the job? This year, please join us for this terrifying new one-shot, which is influenced by different horror media, including Jacob's Ladder, Stranger Things, Japanese horror such as Ju-On (The Grudge) and Ringu (The Ring), and video games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Skeleton Key will stream live on Twitch, on October 29 at 7:00 PM EST (4:00 PM PST): https://www.twitch.tv/archaeogaming_collective It's that time of year again, fellow lovers of spine-chilling tales! And of course we're going to work archaeology into it, because few topics get as much love by the horror genre as archaeology and folklore! Join us for another year of "Archtober" hosted by the ArchaeoGaming Collective! As usual, we're going to use this month to explore archaeology topics that are a little darker than our typical mainstream research areas. We’re looking for podcasts, blog posts, videos, comics, livestreams, games, etc. that highlight archaeology, anthropology, and folklore with a creepy, hair-raising, or otherwise fall-themed twist. Submission categories include, but are not limited to: paranormal archaeology, archaeology of horror, critiques of archaeological media, dark folklore/tourism, ghosts and spirits in various cultures, battlefield archaeology, the archaeology of superstition, and more! If you have a topic that you want to explore for #Archtober2022, you can submit it via the website submission form below, or post about it on our Discord Server (reach out for an invite, or see the link at the top of the page). Please submit abstracts by September 25, 2022. If approved, we'll share it on this blog during the month of October, and spread it far and wide. If you have questions, please contact us at [email protected] or message us on Twitter/Instagram (@ArchaeoGameCo). Let's get creative!
