It's that time of year again, fellow lovers of spine-chilling tales! And of course we're going to work archaeology into it, because few topics get as much love by the horror genre as archaeology and folklore! Join us for another year of "Archtober" hosted by the ArchaeoGaming Collective! As usual, we're going to use this month to explore archaeology topics that are a little darker than our typical mainstream research areas. We’re looking for podcasts, blog posts, videos, comics, livestreams, games, etc. that highlight archaeology, anthropology, and folklore with a creepy, hair-raising, or otherwise fall-themed twist. Submission categories include, but are not limited to: paranormal archaeology, archaeology of horror, critiques of archaeological media, dark folklore/tourism, ghosts and spirits in various cultures, battlefield archaeology, the archaeology of superstition, and more! If you have a topic that you want to explore for #Archtober2022, you can submit it via the website submission form below, or post about it on our Discord Server (reach out for an invite, or see the link at the top of the page). Please submit abstracts by September 25, 2022. If approved, we'll share it on this blog during the month of October, and spread it far and wide. If you have questions, please contact us at [email protected] or message us on Twitter/Instagram (@ArchaeoGameCo). Let's get creative!
